Game of the week- The first rounds of the week saw many teams saving energies or having their mind more focused on the playoffs ahead. White held off a furious comeback by Maroon to end the regular season with a final win. The game of the week goes to the Purple vs White quarterfinal. Purple (already an underdog) lost two of their best players when Izzy injured herself and Morgan volunteered to drive her for medical help. The remaining 8 members of the purple team came out on fire. Larry and Forrest connected with Dante deep shot after shot. Sonia expertly cut against white’s 6 man defense and created multiple D’s with her poaches. The game started out with 11 straight hold as White took half 6-5. The depth of white eventually shown through as they were able to dominate the 2nd half winning 11-7.
Offensive players of the week- Brendan from team blue. The load management strategy worked! In his 2nd or 3rd week of league, he came out ready to play. He added a much needed cutting presence to blue and was laying out everywhere. You know are doing a great job as maroon complained about the player half of their age running way way too much. He helped lead Blue to a 10-8 win over maroon
Defensive play of the week- Pat from Maroon. He snagged a whole lot of Ds against both white and blue. His defensive presence in the poach lanes and deep space helped fuel the comeback against white and kept things close against blue
